Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, who announced the death of her mother few days ago has reportedly buried her mom.
The actress’ husband Prince Odi-Okojie, who shared photos of them in their mourning clothes, thanked those who came to support them during the funeral event. He wrote;
‘It all came to an end yesterday, thanks to everyone who stood by us in prayers during this trying time. @mercyjohnsonokojie and I appreciate you all.
Thank you and God bless.
The seasoned actress who is currently the Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Arts and Culture to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, broke the sad news of her mother’s death on her Instagram page few weeks ago. She politely pleaded that the public grant her and her family privacy as they grief the loss of her mother, as she would also appreciate their prayers for the fortitude to bear the untimely loss.
“It deeply saddens me to say that my beloved mother is gone. This is a trying time for my family and we would appreciate your prayers, even as we plead for our privacy at this time. Thank you,” she wrote.
Mercy Johnson had before now recounted how each member of her family contributed to make ends meet, which makes the loss of her mom much more painful to her. She has three older sisters and three younger brothers. That makes her the middle child in a family of seven kids.
Mercy told several interviewers about growing up in a big family. She mentioned that her relationship with her brothers was much closer than with the sisters. The actress used to be quite the tomboy, climbing trees and running around everywhere.
Her siblings helped her and their parents keep the family afloat during their most difficult times. One of Mercy’s brothers worked as a bricklayer, and another sibling used to sell moin moin and satchet water on the streets to earn a living.
